Elena Nagornaya was born 3 March 1976 in the city of Nevinnomyssk of Stavropol Krai.
She began her career in 1997 as a freight manager in the RATIGOR company in Moscow. Later she worked in the same position in ZAO “Valtron” and LLC “Avtosaund” (1998-2000).
In 2000 she founded her own company – SP Elena Nagornaya.
In 2004 she graduated from Moscow Institute of Foreign Languages with a degree in international relations.
In 2004 she was appointed Deputy HR Director General in the LLC “Business Contrast”, in March 2005 – Director General of the LLC “Business Contrast”. The company deals with transportation of goods.
On 1 February 2006 she established the LLC “Contrast-Tea”, whose main activity is tea and coffee production.
On 8 August 2008 Elena Nagornaya founded and registered the trademark “Keny.”
On 19 March 2012 she became Chief Executive Officer of the “Keny-Tea” company involved in the supply and sale of coffee and tea from Kenya.
On 29 November 2012 she became Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Producers and Suppliers of Quality, Safe Food Products (AKBP), established with the purpose of uniting companies that produce quality and safe food products, assisting in the certification of such products and protecting the rights of Russian consumers. Under the direction of Elena Nagornaya, the Association KBP developed a program “The system of healthy nutrition for people of different ages, including children”; now it is developing voluntary quality standards, and is implementing a project “Quality Trademark of the Association KBP”, and is undertaking a series of actions to promote domestic quality and safe products to the store shelves.
Currently, the Association KBP is compiling an inventory of domestic producers, ready to replace European and American food products with their own quality and safe products.
At the government level
In 2013 Elena completed a professional retraining program “Organization of parliamentary activity” in Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RAHNIS), which allows her to engage in professional activities in the field of state and municipal government.
On 9 January 2014 Elena Nagornaya founded “The House of Kenya”, a non-profit partnership to promote cooperation between domestic and Kenyan organizations, with the purpose of facilitating supplies and promotion of Kenyan goods in the Russian market.
Since 6 June 2014 she has been Director General of the LLC “Africa TM”, founded to facilitate the successful joint work of Russian and African companies dealing with the supply of goods produced in Africa to the Russian market.
On 16 July 2014 she established “The Africa Trade Alliance”, a non-commercial partnership to promote cooperation between domestic and African organizations, and became its Director-General.
Elena Nagornaya is the founder of the magazine “Quality and Safe Food Products”, published by the Association KBP. She often appears in print and on television, promoting the ideas of improving the quality and safety of products and the support of domestic producers.
